Grieve for Your Father; Screw Your Mother

March16

So, for this reason I have been on this website doing research, etc. and I happened upon the tab for grief resources and suggested reading. Sounds like a good idea, right? Sure.

And I noticed this:

FatherLoss; How Sons of All Ages Come to Terms with the Deaths of Their Dads
By Neil Chethik
Hyperion Press

This seems like a good book and all and it very well may be. My problem is that Forest Lawn Memorial Parks and Mortuaries does not however suggest ANY reading resources for say ‘How Daughters Come to Terms with the Death of their Mothers’ or ‘How Sons Come to Terms with the Death of their Mothers,’ or even ‘How Daughters Come to Terms with the Death of their Fathers.’ Well, you get the point. Nothing. Every other entry suggests some very basic discussion of loss on a general level.

So, being curious I went to Amazon to see if maybe the books that inevitably do exist regarding the loss of a mother, just suck and so they didn’t rate the list.

However, I did find quite a list and many of these books, at initial glance, look as helpful as FatherLoss up there.

Soooo, wtf? Hmmm?

This list just seems incomplete. I’m just saying.
